Kids Room Makeover on a Budget
Are your kids tired of the style of their room or have they just simply outgrown the design? There are plenty of ways to give your kids the room of their dreams without breaking the bank! Most of these things are very simple and can be done easily in one day!
The first thing I recommend is to declutter and donate! Go through the room and get rid of the toys that don’t get played with, the clothes that don’t fit, and any decorations or bedding that will not be used anymore! Then sit down with your child and come up with a plan for the room, if it is a younger child just choose what you think they will like and something they can grow into!
Here are my top necessities for redoing a room without breaking the bank!
A new rug can add so much to a room! Rugs can add color, texture, and warmth to a room all while pulling the entire look together! It will also help protect your floors from scratches, scuffs, and stains! You can typically find rugs on sale and score them at a reasonable price! The good thing about using a rug is that if it does get messed up it's the rug and not your carpet, tile, or wood!
New bedding can completely transform a room! It is what ties everything together and makes it all feel complete! There are so many different styles and options to choose from and you can typically find a good deal on comforters and quilts!
One of the best ways to refresh a room without using paint is peel-and-stick wallpaper! It comes in so many different colors and designs to match any style! It can be fairly easy and inexpensive to install and it does not usually cause damage to the wall!
Adding new furniture is not a necessity especially if your child already has good quality furniture in their room! If new furniture is needed there are definitely options available that won’t deplete your entire budget! I always recommend getting furniture a child can continue to use as they grow so you don’t have to continue replacing it!
This is the fun part! Decorations can really help transform a room and make it fit the child's personality! There are so many different decoration options posters, artwork, photos, mirrors, throw blankets, lamps, and so much more that you can pick from to help complete the room!
