Starbucks Red Cup Day 2025

Starbucks' annual Red Cup Day is back, and you don't want to miss it! Keep reading for everything you need to know about when and how to secure your free red cup!

📅 Date & What It Is

  • Red Cup Day for 2025 is Thursday, November 13.
  • On this day, if you purchase any size of a handcrafted holiday or fall beverage (hot, iced or blended) at participating U.S. Starbucks stores, you receive a free 16‑oz (grande size) reusable red cup (while supplies last).
  • The cup is collectible and designed for reuse — not just a promo throw‑away. Starbucks is using this as part of its sustainability push.

🎁 Qualifying Beverages

Eligible drinks include many of the popular holiday and fall handcrafted beverages. Some examples:

  • Peppermint Mocha
  • Caramel Brûlée Latte
  • Sugar Cookie Latte / Sugar Cookie Breve
  • Gingerbread Chai / Gingerbread Latte
  • Hot Chocolate, White Hot Chocolate
  • Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai
  • Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte, Pecan Oatmilk Cortado
  • Holiday & Fall Cold Foams & Protein Cold Foams

Note: Certain items like Starbucks Reserve® Christmas-brewed coffee and the Christmas Blend may not count for the free cup.

🌍 Design & Sustainability

  • The 2025 reusable red cup is made with 95% recycled material.
  • The artwork was created by Starbucks designer Yvonne Chan. According to her:
  • “The design is inspired by the little moment of magic you feel when you step into a Starbucks from the cold outside.”
  • You can bring this reusable red cup (or any reusable cup) back to Starbucks in future visits to receive a discount (typically around 10 ¢) and for Rewards members a bonus in star‑earning.

📝 Tips to Get Yours

  • Arrive or order early: Supplies are limited and the cups often run out.
  • Make sure your order is a qualifying holiday or fall handcrafted beverage — not all items count.
  • You can order via in‑store, drive‑thru, mobile app, or delivery partners (e.g., DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub) as long as the store participates.
  • Be polite and aware: Since popular stores get busy, being courteous helps your experience.
  • Bring the reusable cup back later to use the sustainability perks.

Red Cup Day marks the festive, unofficial start of the holiday season at Starbucks. It merges the appeal of a collectible keepsake with the delight of seasonal drinks and a nudge toward sustainability. Whether you’re working your holiday drink list, want a fun cup for reuse, or both, November 13 is a date to remember!
